Know Your Salmon

Superfood.

Every salmon is always wild, and never farmed. Naturally, our wild salmon store EPA and DHA Omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D, and high-quality proteins. Some of the benefits for consuming Wild Alaskan Salmon include, lowering blood pressure, reduced inflammation, and lowers the chances of stroke and heart attacks. With salmon that has so much flavor and proven health benefits, it’s an easy choice. What we call as the “ultimate superfood”!

Sustainability.

Commercial ‘‘Gillnetters’’ and subsistence fisherman get specific amounts of harvest time per week announced by local fishery managers to be able to fish for these beautiful salmon. The local fishery management constantly monitors fish returns to make the appropriate decisions on opening or closing the fishing grounds as needed during the harvest season. Protecting these salmon for future generations is in the highest concerns in our community.

Care.

Caught in our nets on the oceans edge, each fish is hand selected individually. Once picked, your salmon is immediately live bled, and preserved in slushed sea water and flake ice for freshness until custom processed by local professionals. With hand processing and minimal handling, we deliver our salmon to you as fresh as if you’d just caught it yourself.

The Copper River Delta

Due to the discharge volume at its mouth, The Copper River is ranked the tenth largest in the United States. Starting from glacier run offs nearly 300 miles north through the Wrangell and Chugach mountain ranges the river flows rapidly depositing into the Gulf of Alaska. As Salmon in this area travel up river hundreds of miles they develop higher fat reserves to endure the fast paced currents of the Copper River. The resiliency of these unique and beautiful salmon as they make their way up river to reproduce and continue their life cycle has made Copper River Salmon one of the healthiest, most sought after delicacies for many generations.

Prince William Sound

Prince William Sound is a sound of the Gulf of Alaska just west of the Copper River Delta. Completely surrounded by spectacular glaciers and mountains, the Prince William Sound has almost 10,000 square miles of protected waterways, fjords and islands. Shielded from the open ocean by barrier islands, this sheltered sound on Alaska's southcentral coast is home to a variety of wildlife. We have everything between bears, deer, and sheep, to whales, otters, porpoises, seals and sea-lions. But what might be the most resilient of them all, is the salmon that return home every summer season. Prince William Sound salmon thrive in these nutrient rich, ice cold Alaskan waters. To preserve the sound's abundant biodiversity, our fishery upholds the highest standards of quality and sustainability, treating each fish with the utmost care.
